Edible Oil Refinery

Mapak Edible Oils (Pvt.) Limited (MEO), a flagship company of the Westbury Group of Companies, operates one of Pakistan’s most modern and technologically advanced edible oil refineries. Strategically located at Port Qasim, Karachi, the refinery plays a vital role in meeting the country’s growing demand for high-quality refined edible oils.

MEO was established under a Pak–Malaysia joint venture framework and benefits from decades of international collaboration and technical expertise. The refinery was commissioned for commercial production in 2006 and has since remained a cornerstone of Westbury Group’s integrated edible oil value chain, encompassing jetty operations, bulk storage, refining, and downstream distribution.

Designed to deliver consistent quality, food safety, and operational efficiency, the refinery supplies refined edible oils to the vanaspati, cooking oil, and industrial sectors across Pakistan, while also supporting allied industries through the supply of valuable by-products.

Refining Plant

The refinery is based on advanced Alfa Laval refining technology, incorporating both physical and chemical refining processes. This allows the plant to efficiently handle a wide range of imported crude edible oils, including palm, soybean, canola, and other soft oils.

The process line includes precise degumming, bleaching, deodorizing, and high-efficiency filtration systems designed to achieve optimal purity, stability, and taste in the final product.

Modern SCADA-based automation and centralized control systems enable continuous monitoring of critical parameters such as temperature, pressure, and vacuum levels. The refinery is directly connected via pipelines to the Group’s jetty and bulk storage terminals, ensuring uninterrupted feedstock supply and seamless movement of refined products.
