Annual handling capacity of 4.0 million metric tons
FWQ Enterprises (Pvt.) Limited operates Pakistan’s first dedicated liquid cargo terminal and edible oil jetty at Port Qasim. The facility forms an integral part of the Westbury Group of Companies, a Pakistan-based business house with diversified interests in edible oils, oilseed crushing, storage terminals, liquid cargo handling, and rice processing.
The jetty was developed under a Pak–Malaysia joint venture between Westbury Group and leading Malaysian partners. Established on a Build, Operate & Transfer (BOT) basis, the Liquid Cargo Terminal was commissioned for commercial operations in March 2009 and represents a significant milestone in Pakistan’s port and logistics infrastructure.
Designed as a purpose-built bulk liquid handling facility, the jetty is directly connected to the Group’s onshore storage terminals and refining units at Port Qasim through insulated pipeline networks. This integrated infrastructure ensures safe, efficient, and contamination-free transfer of imported edible oils to downstream storage and processing facilities.
The terminal is engineered to accommodate edible oil tankers of up to 35,000 DWT and is equipped with modern loading and unloading systems, dedicated pipelines, and advanced pigging arrangements. Its strategic location at Port Qasim enables smooth berthing and rapid discharge operations.
Efficient vessel handling and higher discharge rates help minimize vessel waiting time and demurrage. The facility supports a streamlined flow of cargo from berth to interchange points within the Edible Oil and Molasses area, ensuring operational reliability and reduced product losses.
The jetty operates under strict safety, quality, and environmental management systems. Dedicated firefighting infrastructure, spill containment arrangements, vapor recovery systems, and continuous operational monitoring ensure full compliance with Port Qasim Authority regulations and internationally recognized safety and environmental standards.
